I’ve been very, very bad.
Can you believe I only posted three times in April? I’ve been letting Spree* Fashion get all the attention, but no more! I’m back for good.
Here’s a new Collect Them All. I have a major terrarium crush going on. Previously, I’ve mentioned my complete lack of a green thumb. Well, these little miracles are so low maintenance even I can handle them. Plus, they’re gorgeous! I love the different shapes and sizes. There’s really a terrarium out there for everyone.

I’ll use the excuse that I’m new to blogging. I’ll say, “Up until recently, I had no time for anything but grading papers and planning lessons.” I promise I’ll find a way to explain.
Because, really, there’s no good reason why I’ve only JUST learned about Lisa Occhipinti. I’m way behind. The New Yorker blog, Apartment Therapy, Publisher’s Weekly blog, Modish, Decor8, and San Fransisco Girl by the Bay have all covered Occhipinti’s amazing mixed media art. But that’s not going to stop me from adding to the chorus: THIS IS AWESOME!
Occhipinti creates one-of-a-kind art objects from abandoned and unwanted books. She scours stacks of aging hard covers at sales and flea markets and repurposes her finds into both decorative and functional items. Of all her pieces, my favorites are the mobiles she is known for. Each one is unique, the pages blossoming out in different angles and volumes. Those pictured below are available on her Etsy page.
Actually, my post is timely in one sense. Occhipinti’s first book, The Repurposed Library, just became available this month! Published by Abrams, it guides DIY-lovers through 33 different projects that can be made using books. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to create a mobile of my own! Until then, I’ll appreciate books the old fashioned way and just read about it.

Spree* Fashion is now up and running! From the blog description:
One blog just isn’t enough. After all, I’ve chosen the name Spree* to characterize my sites. And a spree is an unrestrained outburst of an activity. I guess I tend to overindulge.
As much as I love the crafty goodness Spree* Online features, there is something that both competes with and complements my love of design. You guessed it. Fashion.
Visit Spree* Fashion and follow me with bloglovin!
